I can come get him. Then he can come play at my place with Izzy and you can have a while to recharge. Or he can nap here while you go get some "sanity" time. Don't feel bad, it is part of being a mommy. We all have our breaking points. The trick is learning from what happened today and mentally preparing for next time. For me chaos isn't so bad if I have a plan and I know what to expect. If you want, I can even come over and chat (or stay inside with him while you go for a walk) while you let him cry it out. As long as his needs are met there is nothing wrong with letting him cry. Long story associated with that, let me know if you want details, but I had to learn the hardway to let Corban cry it out and not give in to giving him his way. The doctor even told me, if you go get him after he has cried for 2 hours (when it's a fit) that he will probably cry for 3 or 4 hours the next time because he thinks you will give in again. So go in the other room and turn on some music or the TV. Just be consistent.

Benadryl does nothing to my kids. I use Melatonin (I crush it up and put it in warm milk or even chocolate milk) if I need them to calm down enough so they can sleep. The thing I like about melatonin is that it is natural, your body produces melatonin on it's own, so I am just helping their body out a little. I can tell you more about it, dosing, etc. if you want.

Keep your chin up Misty, you are a great mom. Today will turn into tomorrow and everything will be ok. Call if you need me. I am serious!Rachyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09605536556752252286noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3680506685332691963.post-30107547820815096102010-02-01T15:22:36.453-08:002010-02-01T15:22:36.453-08:00lay n r bed

There is no releif for a tire...Don't feel bad. There is no releif for a tired mommy with a fussy baby. Sometimes you have to bring out the "backup". At his age, benadryl (responsibly dosed) is no worse than putting him to bed with a bottle of chocolate milk. It's a flying lifesaver too - cause it actually helps to clear their sinuses so when the air pressure goes up they feel less discomfort...the drowsiness is of course nice too. Now you can get some much needed rest and both be happier...the end result makes the act quite a good mommy thing to do.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
